Pricing and Fees for Your Alinta Account

It�s important for you to understand the pricing and fees that may apply to your Alinta account.

Residential Pricing and Fees

Coastal [Metropolitan] Region

Residential Customers	Prices including GST [as at 1 July 2008]
Supply charge	12.12 cents per day
The first 12 units used on average per day	8.15 cents per unit
Over 12 units used on average per day	7.33 cents per unit

Albany Pricing

Residential Customers	Prices including GST [as at 1 July 2008]
Supply charge	12.73 cents per day
Supply charge additional dwellings	6.35 cents per day
Energy charge	9.26 cents per unit

Kalgoorlie Pricing

Residential Customers	Prices including GST [as at 1 July 2008]
Supply charge	27.25 cents per day
Energy charge	7.56 cents per unit

General Account Fees

Account Administration Fee [Payable on change of account holder]	$38.00
Energy Safety Levy [An annual fee for all holders which recovers the cost of the State Government's Energy Safety Levy]	$2.50 per annum
Meter Testing [For each laboratory test requested. Refundable if the meter is found to be faulty]	from $70.00
Special Meter Reading [For each additional reading requested]	$14.00
Reconnection Fee [Where the gas needs to be turned back on after being turned off for non-payment]	$40.00

Gas Connection Fees Explained

Connection Fees for Single Dwellings

Installing the first 20 metres of gas service pipes for an established single dwelling is free. The following fees relate to the installation of gas service pipes that extend beyond the free 20 metres for an established single dwelling:

Where a Trench Is Provided
Running of a gas service pipe beyond the free 20 metres where a trench has been provided is charged at $14.14 per metre including GST.

Where a Trench Is Not Provided
Running of a gas service pipe beyond the free 20 metres where no trench has been provided and AlintaGas Networks Pty Ltd provides the trench is $29.15 per metre including GST.

Fees for Multiple/Strata Dwellings

Multiple/strata dwellings are a group of units or townhouses that operate under a strata-title, which is managed by a Corporate Body. Multiple/strata dwellings include:

established multiple dwellings (such as existing flats or office blocks) which have no gas connection at the site; and
new multiple dwellings which have gas service pipes installed from the time they are first built.

What is an Existing Multiple/Strata Dwelling Connection Fee?
For multiple/strata dwellings which do not have gas pipes installed at the time of construction, a fee of $338 including GST per dwelling will be charged. This amount will appear on your first Alinta account. Conditions apply, please call 13 13 58 for more information.

What is a New Multiple/Strata Dwelling Connection Fee?
This fee applies to new multiple/strata dwellings which have the gas service pipes installed at the time of construction. The fee to connect to gas is $110.00 per dwelling, including GST. This amount will appear on your first Alinta account.
