How to Get Gas Connected at Your Business
Want to step on the gas at your business? Follow these steps to apply for your Alinta gas connection. 1. Check Your Gas AvailabilityCall Alinta on 13 13 58 to determine whether you currently have a gas connection at your business premises. 2. Arrange a QuoteIf gas is not available at your premises, call Alinta on 13 13 58 to arrange for a quote to extend the gas mains to your premises. We’ll request a quote from our Network Operator on your behalf. This could take up to four (4) weeks. This is the ideal time to arrange for Alinta Assist, or a licensed gas fitter, to provide a quote for installing your gas appliances. Once you have received and provided written approval for the quote to extend the gas mains, proceed to Step 3. 3. Determine Your Gas LoadAlinta Assist or a licensed gasfitter will determine the gas load for your business. If your maximum load is less than 1000MJ, then Alinta Assist or your gasfitter will complete and submit an Alinta Sales Request for Gas (RFG) form. If your maximum load is more than 1000MJ, our Alinta Sales Commercial Sales Team will provide you with a quote for a meter set and connection charges. Our Alinta team will help you explore your gas supply options and range of gas supply contracts to find the right solution for your business needs. Step 4 can proceed once you are happy with your gas supply contract and have provided written approval. 4. Your Meter Box will be InstalledAlinta Assist, or your gasfitter, will install an appropriate sized meter box in an approved position on your premises, except where a meter set is required. 5. Open An Alinta AccountBefore you can be connected to gas, you need to open an Alinta account for your business. To open an account you can:
