What Makes Alinta Electricity Cleaner Than Coal Fired Power?

Our electricity is generated by two sources:

• highly efficient natural gas cogeneration units in Pinjarra, and
• the Alinta Wind Farm near Geraldton,

Using the latest in wind power and cogeneration technology means our Alinta electricity is cleaner than the electricity produced by traditional coal-fired methods.

Our electricity displaces a total of around 900,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions produced by traditional coal-fired power generation every year.

That's the equivalent of taking approximately 170,000 cars off our WA roads each year!

Is Your Business Eligible To Benefit From Alinta Electricity?

The deregulation of the electricity industry has meant that in addition to our long history of helping Western Australian businesses with natural gas, we can now supply electricity to contestable customers.

So, what does contestable mean?

Contestability means you have the ability to choose your energy retailer. Your business is considered "contestable" if you use 50MWh of electricity, which is equivalent to around $8,000 or more, per year. Being contestable means you can choose Alinta as your electricity supplier.
